 Vita Altra is a 74-minute journey into the heart of what it means to long for something that feels just out of reach—whether it’s a past life, a forgotten dream, or simply the feeling of truly living. At its heart, Vita Altra tells the story of Dino, a Sicilian man who finds himself revisiting his past and coming to terms with a life he feels he never truly lived. As he navigates his dreams, two strangers—Junior, a Nigerian man, and Emma, a French woman—enter his world, each embodying desires that are as elusive as they are real. Together, they blur the line between dreams and reality, offering a meditation on what it means to long for change, freedom, and meaning.

This film isn’t just a narrative; it’s a love letter to those moments when life feels like it’s slipping through your fingers, and all you have left are the “what ifs.” It’s about longing, but also about how dreams can both trap and free us, depending on how willing we are to face them.

Shot in locations that hold personal significance for us—Sicily, Milan, Brussels, Lanzarote—this film was made by over 150 passionate souls that believed deeply in its message. There was no major backing, just the unwavering belief that this story needed to be told, and I feel that Vita Altra speaks to the heart of what independent filmmaking is all about.
